Advanced Peels are a way to make changes to your skin through the use of acids such as lactic, salicylic and glycolic acids.

They are great for treating:

  • Acne-prone skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Texture concerns
  • Hyperpigmented skin
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Dry and oily skin
  • Mature skin

Your esthetician will step you through a series of peels to appropriately manage skin regeneration and progress.

Take a look at the advanced peel process in this reel:

Video transcript

I have applied the chemical peel to myself here but you would not do this. I’m doing this at home as a professional.

I started by feeling a little bit of a sting, but no intense burning happening.

This is an advanced peel which means it has a lower pH.

This is the stage where I’m like, is it working? Is it actually going to peel? It can look like that for the first day or two post-treatment.

I began peeling about day two post-treatment and the peeling began primarily around my mouth and then continued to the outer edges of my face. It is important to not force the skin to peel, let it go through the process that the peel was designed for.

Post-treatment it is especially important to use products that protect and soothe the skin that is newly exposed. Products like Gentle Cream Cleanser, Calm Replenish Oil, HydraCalm and of course sunscreen are perfect to use after an advanced peel.

It is important to never pull at the flakes because you could cause scarring so even though that just doesn’t look very pretty for a while your skin will recover as long as you are protecting it. I’m just putting careful products and sunscreen on every day to protect it. In the end, I will end up with a brighter complexion!
